Reaching the Riverbend. . . And Beyond!

Abundant Life Community Church places great importance both prayerfully and financially on Missions.  As a body, we support 30 missionaries around the world and 3 local ministry projects.  Each month we have a special guest missionary/ministry share their heart about what God is doing in the country that they are serving in. Through these "mission windows" we get to see how water wells are dug in desolate villages that then spring "new life" into the village and the hearts of the villagers.  We have heard from a group of young men from Teen Challenge International of Mid America in Cape Girardau, MO.  It is awesome to hear testimonies about how God changes lives so completely. 

Giving to a ministry makes more sense when you can see and hear straight from the pastor as to what the money is used for.  Everyone from elementary age on up is encouraged to give something towards missions.  The kids save their change in a "buddy barrel" to support missionaries abroad.  Teens give to "Speed the Light" a ministry that provides vehicles and multi-media equipment to missionaries.  Adults are encouraged to make a yearly or monthly pledge as well as special gifts to visiting missionaries on furlough.  A list of ministries that we support is available by contacting the church office.

Pastor Henning and the missions committee plan 2 trips a year for people in our congregation to give back.  Some trips are overseas to do construction, VBS, seminars, medical/dental, evangelism, literature distibution, and whatever God calls us to!
